Sampler

Samplers are devices that can record, store and playback sounds with the posibility to change the recorded sound into something different. This can be done by e.g. changing the playback speed of the recording, or by applying amplitude modulation and dynamic filters similar to those found in synthesizers.
Software samplers in general lack the ability to record sound and uses sound files generated by other software.
