Virtual analogue

Virtual analogue is a term referring to items of equipment, particularly synths, which are not actually made with analogue technology, but which attempt to mimic the features, interface and results produced by analogue gear. The most typical example is subtractive synths: the Access Virus is one particularly famous virtual analogue synth.
